May 13, 2013 - The Georgia Tech Foundation, Inc. (GTF), an external organization responsible for management of the private gifts that provide critical financial support for Institute priorities, has named Al Trujillo as its next president and chief operating officer. A current trustee of GTF and a former chairman of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, Trujillo will assume the leadership position on July 1.
March 10, 2013 - The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has named Ravi Bellamkonda as the organization’s president-elect. He will begin his term as president in 2014.

January 29, 2013 - Georgia Tech has recently announced the appointment of a new executive leadership team for Georgia Tech Professional Education. Four scholars and education professionals, under the leadership of Dr. Nelson Baker, will lead the Institute’s global Professional Education programs and initiatives. The appointments complement Georgia Tech’s mission to be leaders in improving the human condition in Georgia, the United States, and around the globe.
Ron Johnson tapped for Managing Director of the Tennenbaum Institute and Professor of Practice in ISyE
January 3, 2013 - Ronald L. Johnson, retired 2-Star Army General and graduate of ISyE, has accepted a joint appointment at Georgia Tech. Effective January 2, 2013, he will serve as a Professor of Practice in ISyE, and the Managing Director of the Tennenbaum Institute.
December 11, 2012 - Georgia Tech Professional Education was given the Gold Award for its print ad campaign during the marketing awards at the 21st Annual University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA) Marketing Seminar on Nov. 8, 2012, which was held in in New Orleans. UPCEA recognizes excellence in marketing and promotional practices in the field of professional, continuing, and online education in 27 categories and eight divisions.
December 6, 2012 - Dr. Rafael L. Bras, provost and executive vice president of Academic Affairs, is one of nine senior academic officials named to the company’s first advisory board. Each member represents a university partnered with Coursera to offer free massive open online courses (MOOCs).
