African American Student Union, Jackets for Obama and Georgia Tech College Republicans will host a debate between representatives from AASU and GTCR on current race relations and the future of African Americans in politics.
Guest speakers: Michael McNeally, Rich Thompson
Culminating to the general election the following week, this debate seeks to galvanize an important topic in modern politics: the role of African Americans in the political process. Does the Democratic Party hold a monopoly on the black vote? Or can the Republican Party offer greater opportunity for success? Two speakers from AASU and two from GTCR will address these key points.
